Feb = Pink Project

My February Project for the
is finished !!!
Ok well, it's Pink and Green, but it's finished and I like it .
Still have to decide who it's for . I have a feeling that by December I will have gifts without intended
reciepients. Might just wrap them all and say "pick one."
Here's my Pink bird banner.
Just a simple bird banner.

Little closer view

It really is hot pink, looks a little red here. I'm loving playing with felt.

And a little Green guy.

Stop by the 12 Months site and see what other are creating, remember you can join the project any time :)

Glow Inchie

My inchie prompt this week was "glow" I looked and didn't have any glow in the dark paint. That would have been fun to play with. So I made a little glow worm. Easy lil guy just tiny pom poms.

Valentine Day Banners

Heart Banners

This banner is one made by a group of art friends. Everyone made enough hearts for each other to have one. Love how they're all so different, yet perfect for Valentine's Day

These are music paper hearts I stuffed and sewed for a banner for my daughter.

Glitter letters and black ribbon are all I needed to finish. I had to fight the urge to "bling" this up some more, but I knew she would like it better plain.

Here's the finished banner. She was very surprised and loved it.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY !!!!

Inchie Catch up

I feel like I'm already constantly behind in my inchies. Was on vacation and missed a couple and I have no clue where the other Monday went. But I think I am now caught up again. Here goes:

The prompt for this Inchie is "shadow" I decided to make a shadow box. Making the box was the most difficult part of this. I placed two paper clay buttons inside.

This inchie is "smile" I know I know ! She's got one scary smile on her face. My daughter thinks I should have just gone with a wal-mart sticker  LOL

This is my "universe"  inchie. The stars are very tiny balls, they clumped up, we'll just call it space junk :)

My last inchie is "flyer". this is my little green bird. The wing is a heart sequin. I must be gearing up for Valentine's Day

12 Months of Christmas White Project

Cheapo Chalkboard
I started with a dollar store tray.

Sprayed it with a few coats of chalkboard paint.

Painted the edges white and added fine glitter. Found this big paper bow for a quarter after Christmas, added glitter to it also.

All done! One Christmas gift ready for gifting. So happy to have one gift ready. Hope some of you will join us for Feb. the inspiration will be "pink"

City Inchie

It's Monday again. For this week the Inchie word was "city". Now I'm far from being a city girl, I live in a very small community, but the allure of those city lights takes me there occasionally. Hope everyone has a great Monday and week to come. :)
Here's my inchie:

Inchie 2012

Last year I participated in a year long weekly project. I enjoyed it so much I'm going to do it again this year. It's called Every Inchie Monday and open to anyone that would like to join. The challenge is to create only one inch of art a week based on the weekly word as inspiration. The first week's word was "gold" this is a pretty simple inchie, you can see I didn't get too involved in it. Just a simple gold glitter 12 to start the new year.

Snowman Blocks

Winter at our house always means I have trouble with our computer connection. Yes, I said connection. No high speed, or wireless where we live. I think we are probably one of the 10 households left with the old dial-up connection. To top that off,our phone lines are always giving us trouble when it's wet out.
That said, it's my excuse for not blogging and I'm sticking with it. I didn't complete as many Christmas projects as I had hoped this year, so I'm sharing some snowman blocks I made for a couple friends. Hope your Christmas was a happy one. Happy New Year to all.

Can of Christmas

This Christmas I have some smaller sized gifts and of course gift cards to wrap. I made some Christmas cans to use as wrapping.

I started with a pop top can, you have to find one with the right type with a ridge on the bottom, to enable you to use the type of can opener that cuts the lid ( or bottom in this case) off without sharp edges.

Just decorate the can anyway you'd like. I used some scrapbook paper, and glittery stars and snowballs.

The cans are the perfect size for gift cards, small ornament exchanges, candy, diamonds
 ( hint, hint).

Just glue the bottom back on, add a tag and you're set. It's fun to see the surprised looks on the kids' faces when they can't figure out how you got their gift inside the can once they pop off the top.
