My sister gave me a couple paintings that she didn't want. I was wanting frames at the time and didn't want the canvases. We recently moved and I need some art for our new walls. Cheap is always good so I drug out those paintings and began by covering them with gesso.
I tore paper pieces and attached them. Then painted over until I found what I liked. I am pleased with the repurposed canvas.

It's a What??
Have been in a fall mood, even though it's 80 . degrees out. Would love to say this is an original idea, but of course it isn't. Am sure i saw it online last year and didn't save it or pin it or anything that easy. Somehow I stored it away in my actual brain.........I'm sure there's plenty of room for more in there. So, what fallish object do you make from a dryer hose, spray-paint and glue or duct tape???
Why a pumpkin of course!! I will admit that I had some trouble. my first attempt was too short, luckily I had plenty of dryer hose. Tried a couple of types of glue, even had clothes pins holding it in place. Either I'm just impatient ( go figure) or had the wrong type of glue.........finally used duct tape! I figured it is a dryer duct hose isn't it? well, the taped end looked ok till I spray painted it, had to glue some leaves over the taped end and keep that side turned toward the wall. Other than that, I'm pretty pleased with the outcome of my pumpkin.

Although these weren't my style,I had so much fun making them.Got stuck a couple of times but got help from my crafty guru , Aileen. Can't wait to make more.

Halloween Banner and Jar Pumpkins
Here are a couple of Halloween/fall things I worked on. The banner I saw on pinterest. mine is a little different Made from felt, I actually made one for my youngest sister and liked it so much I made myself one.
I hosted my bunko group in October and made some little baby food jars for everyone. They were easy and fun to make. Even my non "cute" loving teen likes them. Am thinking snowmen jars for Christmas!!

SNOW GLOBE IN A JAR
Looks like I've finally figured out how to post from the laptop. Here's a quick project I did a few weeks ago. It's actually a practice project for a glass teapot I want to create in. But for now it's just a little snowman and trees in a jar.
The top is done with a snowpen my sister got me and some snowflake buttons ( I just love buttons)
So glad to be back online again.... I have more projects but no pics yet..... enjoy :)

I'm Baaaackk !!
Hello out there, Since Kris has graciously asked if I'm back to tinkering I thought I should at least respond. I am happy to report that yes indeed I have been tinkering a little, have gotten a couple of things done last week. Only problem is, I apparently live in the sticks and am unable to get any type of connection other that an antiquated dial up. Yes, I actually still live in the 1980's. Up until a couple of days ago I was unable to blog, at this point I can blog, but not add any photos. I promise to take some pics of projects, load them on the laptop and drive to "town" ( yes that’s what we call it ) to use a wifi connection. Thanks Kris, for noticing I've been missing :)

Valentine Day Banners
Heart Banners
This banner is one made by a group of art friends. Everyone made enough hearts for each other to have one. Love how they're all so different, yet perfect for Valentine's Day |
These are music paper hearts I stuffed and sewed for a banner for my daughter. |
Glitter letters and black ribbon are all I needed to finish. I had to fight the urge to "bling" this up some more, but I knew she would like it better plain. |
Here's the finished banner. She was very surprised and loved it. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY !!!! |

Inchie Catch up
I feel like I'm already constantly behind in my inchies. Was on vacation and missed a couple and I have no clue where the other Monday went. But I think I am now caught up again. Here goes:
The prompt for this Inchie is "shadow" I decided to make a shadow box. Making the box was the most difficult part of this. I placed two paper clay buttons inside. |
This inchie is "smile" I know I know ! She's got one scary smile on her face. My daughter thinks I should have just gone with a wal-mart sticker LOL |
This is my "universe" inchie. The stars are very tiny balls, they clumped up, we'll just call it space junk :) |
My last inchie is "flyer". this is my little green bird. The wing is a heart sequin. I must be gearing up for Valentine's Day |

12 Months of Christmas White Project
Cheapo Chalkboard
I started with a dollar store tray.
Sprayed it with a few coats of chalkboard paint.
Painted the edges white and added fine glitter. Found this big paper bow for a quarter after Christmas, added glitter to it also.
All done! One Christmas gift ready for gifting. So happy to have one gift ready. Hope some of you will join us for Feb. the inspiration will be "pink"

Inchie 2012
Last year I participated in a year long weekly project. I enjoyed it so much I'm going to do it again this year. It's called Every Inchie Monday and open to anyone that would like to join. The challenge is to create only one inch of art a week based on the weekly word as inspiration. The first week's word was "gold" this is a pretty simple inchie, you can see I didn't get too involved in it. Just a simple gold glitter 12 to start the new year.

Snowman Blocks
Winter at our house always means I have trouble with our computer connection. Yes, I said connection. No high speed, or wireless where we live. I think we are probably one of the 10 households left with the old dial-up connection. To top that off,our phone lines are always giving us trouble when it's wet out.
That said, it's my excuse for not blogging and I'm sticking with it. I didn't complete as many Christmas projects as I had hoped this year, so I'm sharing some snowman blocks I made for a couple friends. Hope your Christmas was a happy one. Happy New Year to all.
